HOSPITALITY RESTAURANTS EARNS TOP WORKPLACE

[FAIRVIEW PARK, OHIO, JULY 23, 2024] – Hospitality Restaurants has once again earned the prestigious “Top Workplaces” award in Northeast Ohio, marking the 9th time the locally-owned restaurant company has received this recognition from the Cleveland Plain Dealer and Cleveland.com.

This accolade is based on confidential employee surveys that cover a range of topics, including leadership, company culture, vision, and the execution of that vision. The Cleveland Plain Dealer utilizes a third-party company, Energage, to administer these surveys. For a company to qualify, at least 35% of its employees must complete the survey. The ultimate decision for the award is determined by the employees’ feedback.

Linda Ekey, Director of Human Resources, has been with Hospitality Restaurants for over 26 of its nearly 33 years in Northeast Ohio. She shared, “The fact that this recognition is determined by our employees is what means the most to me. Working directly for, and representing our employees, has been one of the greatest accomplishments of my professional career. Their recognition is the highest achievement we could have.”

Hospitality Restaurants was founded in 1991 by lifelong friends George Schindler and Kay Ameen, along with their close friend and co-worker Dave Hale. After pursuing different career paths, they united to purchase a well-known watering hole and actual log cabin in Westlake, OH, transforming it into a Northeast Ohio staple, Cabin Club. Schindler reminisces, “Back then we had a dirt parking lot. We never imagined in our wildest dreams that we’d be here 33 years later with 360 employees, touching so many lives. Between weddings, graduations, vacations, and supporting people starting families or pursuing new opportunities, it’s truly been a pleasure. And we’re not slowing down. The next generation of leadership is ready to lead a new generation of families and individuals to whatever life or career paths they choose.”

Patrick “P.J.” Saracusa, Vice President of Operations, adds, “The ‘Top Workplaces’ award is something we are all incredibly proud of because it comes from our staff. We work hard every day to provide an environment where everyone can be proud to work, and it’s always at the forefront of every decision we make. When you take care of your team, they take care of the guests, and that is the ultimate goal of any service-oriented company.”

Alison Marcin, affectionately known as “Ali-paca” by her co-workers, has been with Rosewood Grill since 2012 and has become a fixture among the staff, with many considering her a best friend. She says, “I love the environment and my co-workers. Some of them have become my best friends. I’m proud of what we stand for as a company and I’m proud to work at Hospitality Restaurants.”

Hospitality Restaurants operates nine properties in Northeast Ohio: Cabin Club (Westlake), Salmon Dave’s (Rocky River), Delmonico’s (Independence), Blue Point Grille & Thirsty Parrot (Downtown Cleveland), Kingfish (Copley), Rosewood Grill Hudson, Rosewood Grill Westlake, and Rosewood Grill Strongsville.
